ALS was always something I would hear about but it never hit close to home. Over the past 3 - 5 years, that has changed and the importance of searching for treatments and supporting those individuals and families navigating this disease has become much more real to me. If you know somebody with this disease, my prayers are with you and I am honored to help in this small way. If you have not yet encountered somebody with this disease, know that it is extremely difficult. The mind is strong but the body isn't able. Right now, there is no cure, but there continue to be research studies that, with a bit of luck, prayer and really smart people, may bring a cure.
