The past year has certainly been a challenging journey through the life of my father who lost his courageous battle against congestive heart failure and pseudomyxoma peritonei cancer in December.  He Never Surrendered and knew the end was near, but kept operating our family resort through November.   He never gave up hope!   One of my proudest moments in my life was when he was speaking to a friend about my diagnosis.  He said, “Don’t worry about Mark, he is a fighter!”   I guess I learned from the best!  Every year, I find someone who motivates me to keep bugging my best friends to support me in this fishing fundraiser – this year, you can blame it on dad!

Regarding my fight, the FDA granted conditional approval for the lumbar injections of Qalsody, which I am receiving.  With over 85 trips to San Diego over 6 years, my clinical trial is expected to conclude in August with my final two injections shortly after the fishing tournement.  Biogen should complete the final phase of data for the FDA and hopefully full approval will be given.   I can't thank you enough for this milestone and all the support you have given me and all people living with ALS.
