I am sad that I won't be riding this year due to COVID 19 concerns but as I have often said the Ride is the Reward - the cause is what is so important.

Why I Raise money in the fight against ALS...

What warms my heart is the difference WE make for those fighting this insidious disease.  While the MN/ND/SD ALS Chapter isn't the largest, no other chapter provides more services.  One of those many services that is so important is the Durable Medical Equipment Loan Pool - from simple items such as canes and walkers to patient lifts, power wheelchairs and hospital beds.  When I began riding on the Blizzard Tour, there was often a waiting list for these items.  Thanks to the funds we have provided - over 12 million  dollars - the waiting list has been eliminated.   All of these items, often not covered by insurance, are provided at no charge.  This is just one example of the great work that your contribution makes possible.

The FIGHT FOR THE CURE also continues - the ALS Association is the largest provider of funds in the fight!  They adopted processes in January 2020, similar to what was done to develop a COVID 19 vaccine so quickly, that have accelerated research and are already bearing fruit toward slowing the progression of the disease and getting us closer to the cure.
