I will be participating in the Black Woods Blizzard Tour. This is a 3-day snowmobile event designed to raise funds to support individuals living with ALS. I need your help to reach my personal fundraising goal. Why I Am Riding...

Why I ride? That’s a question I’ve reflected on year after year, and the answer has evolved as I continue this journey. In year one, a group of buddies invited me to join the cause at a time when I was searching for something meaningful and allowed me to give back and help others. The way they described the event made it sound engaging and impactful. I took the time to research how Never Surrender used the funds raised to ensure it aligned with what I believed in. At that point, I had no personal connection to ALS and didn’t know much about it. During those first couple of years, that began to change. I met people whose friends and loved ones had battled ALS. I met individuals actively fighting the disease who shared how the money we raised was directly helping them. Through those experiences, I grew closer to the cause and to the community behind it. What started as curiosity and goodwill became something deeper, it became something I was committed to fighting for.

Then, in 2025, as I began my fourth year of fundraising, everything changed. I received news that shook me. A Friend and someone I had grown to know, both him and his family, received the kind of news no one ever wants to hear: he was diagnosed with ALS. That’s when the cause became personal and the fire inside me grew stronger. I continue to carry the stories of those I’ve met through the ride who are battling ALS. I carry the stories people have shared about their loved ones and friends fighting this disease. But now, when you ask me why I ride, my answer is clear:  I ride for the cure. I ride for Ricky.
