On September 20th & 21st, I am going to be riding in Never Surrender’s fundraising event, The Tomassoni Tour - Cycle for ALS. This fundraising program is being held in Northern Minnesota and is designed to raise funds for those who are living with ALS. Ultimately, we hope to find a cure.
I am participating in this ride to honor the memory of my dear friend, John T Whaley ... as well as the memory of others whose paths crossed mine, and who, in passing, have left deep sadness. They are all gone too soon. Anyone who has been touched by ALS through watching a family member, a friend, an acquaintance, or a a colleague suffer through this, knows & understands that ALS is a horrific journey for the inflicted, as well as all who care for them.
For this reason, I ask you to please consider a gift in support of my ride. All dollars are staying local to programs of Never Surrender Inc., who help fund platform trials for people with ALS to get the same medical treatments as those in a metropolitan area, support through their durable medical equipment loan program, and so much more.
Many of the vital programs and services needed are funded solely through donations by individuals and organizations. The lifespan of someone living with ALS is only 2 - 5 years. John's life, from diagnosis to death was a short 10 months. He and his family benefited in numerous ways because of Never Surrender. NS is committed to helping people and continues the fight for so many.
